Development on the Allegiance software began in 1977 when Prairie Public Broadcasting (PPB) contracted with Dakota Computer Professionals (DCP) to begin work on a fully-relational database management system. DCP computer programmer Sonja Jensen and PPB Membership Coordinator, Lois O’Meara, collaborated on the development of the software from its inception. After nine months of research and development, PPB went live with the Allegiance Fundraising System in October of 1978.
