Before visiting the Great State of South Dakota, one may think that it is only made up of grassy priairies and ranchland, but there is so much more than that in this state! Winding throughout the state, there are several Scenic Byways, such as the astonishing Spearfish Canyon along US 14A, which includes Bridal Veil and Roughlock Falls. There is the dramatic Needles Highway and the lavish Iron Mountain Road, near Mount Rushmore. The Badlands Loop has many photo-inspiring scenic outlooks available for your enjoyment. Don't forget the Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park, where you can get an incredible close up view of roaming bison, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, deer, elk, coyote, prairie dog and numerous birds, that are all natural inhabitants of the area.
