North Dakota is a place that has many unexpectedly exciting attractions that range across the entire state. East off I-90 is Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora where you can explore the beauty of the ND Badlands, such as the Painted Canyon overlook or the South Unit historic cabin. Don't miss the historic tourist town of Medora, ND where you can get a bite to eat, buy some souveniers, and in the evening see the famous musical play while eating pitchfork fondue. Continuing East, a must see is the Enchanted Highway where giant metal sculptures can be stopped at and viewed. Once you reach the Missouri river at Bismark, there is the State Capital, Dakota Zoo, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, or the ND Heritage Center and State Museum to visit, among many others. If you decide to venture North to Minot, a place worth stopping is the Scandinavian Heritage Park. Do not miss the Worlds Largest Buffalo at the Frontier Village in Jamestown. Valley city is the city of Bridges and has a beautiful High Line railroad track to check out! Once if Fargo, there is the Air Museum, FargoDome, and the Red River Zoo, among others. If you go North to Grand Forks, you can visit the University of ND, the Museum of Art, the Flood Memorial Monument. No matter where you stop in this state, what you will be pleasantly surprised!
